Pot size ⌀8.5cm

Height↑10cm

Drosera plants, commonly known as sundews, are a diverse group of carnivorous plants that belong to the family Droseraceae. The plants vary in size and appearance depending on the species, but generally have leaves that are covered in small, sticky, glandular hairs that trap and digest insects and other small prey.

The leaves of Drosera plants are arranged in a rosette at the base of the plant, and can range in size from a few millimeters to several centimeters in diameter. The leaves are usually green or red in color and have a shiny, somewhat waxy appearance.

In addition to their unique appearance, Drosera plants are known for their ability to capture and digest insects and other small prey in order to supplement their nutrient intake in nutrient-poor environments. They have evolved a range of mechanisms to capture prey, including the sticky, glandular hairs on their leaves and the movement of their tentacle-like structures to ensnare prey.

Drosera plants can be grown as ornamental plants in a variety of settings, including terrariums, outdoor gardens, and windowsills. They require specific growing conditions, such as bright light, high humidity, and nutrient-poor soil, in order to thrive. Some species of Drosera are also used in traditional medicine for their purported medicinal properties.
