The Pilea peperomioides is probably the most known member of the Pilea family! This plant has many nicknames, like Chinese money plant or Pancake plant. The plant owes these nicknames to the shape of the beautiful, round leaves. The Pilea peperomioides was all the rage in the 70s and made a comeback a few years ago! Now this retro plant is indispensable in households all over the world. This special plant is originally from the Province of Yunnan in China.


Pilea peperomioides Is a very low maintenance plant that loves a bright spot near a window, though not too much direct sunlight or the leaves can burn. Allow soil to dry between waterings, water approximately once a week or when the top inch of soil is dry.

 You can easily propagate it from the readily available basal shoots or leaf cuttings with a bit of stem.
