The Strelitzia is the official flower of Los Angeles, although it originates from South Africa. Strelitzia reginae was named after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in the 19th century. That was the wife of the then English King George III. The Strelitzia is also called bird of paradise flower. Royal, paradise, it is clear that the plant is something extra special here.
In its country of origin, South Africa, it is also called a bird's head plant as it’s pollinated by birds. People worldwide consider the Strelitzia reginae to be one of the most beautiful, most exclusive houseplants.
Strelitzia is very popular for its evergreen foliage that emerge one at a time in a criss cross pattern making a fan-shaped crown. The flowers are predominately orange with a touch of blue.
Indoors can reach upto 2 meters in hight.it loves full sun location and will reward with remarkable leaves and one day it’s spectacular flowers.
